Ready for Spring

Like many of us, I find myself longing for lush green trees and fat blooms every year at this time. An itching to hike and explore and to just be immersed in nature. Someplace where I don't have to spread my thoughts and concentration so thin. It's like a recharge for my soul to be surrounded in that peace and solitude that can only be found when 'lost' in the woods. Clean air and the scents of pine, cedar, grass and dirt. I could go on and on but that is my happy place in a nut-shell.

Spring is a time of renewal and, my friends, Spring has sprung. On my most recent hike I was encompassed by budding leaves, bright flowers, and crisp clean air. The breeze and birdsongs were like music. Twigs cracked with every step I took as I made my way into the forest. When I reference 'me-time', this is what I mean. I don't need a spa-day, I don't want to go shopping. I need to be in my zone, amongst the flora and fauna, away from everyone's bullshit. It really melts my stress away like nothing else.

I recently listened to an interview (for lack of a better word) where a  man by the name of Sadhguru explained the importance of walking barefoot on a daily basis and the significance of staying in touch with the earth. I really enjoyed listening as I already take whatever opportunity to be barefoot that I can. However, Sadhguru is a great speaker in my opinion and I highly recommend checking out any of his talks. You can listen to his take on the benefits of walking barefoot here.

So that will conclude tonight's musing. I know. It was short. Never enough hours in the day but one-step-at-a-time, right? Right. Thanks for coming through and have a great week everyone!
